I would advise you to get your ride in before our regular 5 o'clock time. Looks like we are under a tornado watch. So get out while you can!

Saturday Morning Ride 4/23/2011

Plan on leaving at 8:00 am. from the entrance to the West Gate subdivision, for a West/South West ride possibly to Strasburg. The length of the ride is planned to be maybe up to 70 miles. For guests and riders not wanting to go the full length, there are several turn around points that could make for a shorter mile ride.

Ellen and I thought about joining you guys tonight, but we just returned from Oakland and the White House Cafe.  The peach cobbler was heavenly.  We have to get the whole gang up there sometime.

Leaving from Monroe. The temp is supposed to be 53 and the wind WSW at 11mph.

2:00 Sunday ride.

Probably the golf course route.  It will be nice and warm, but the wind will be 18-28 mph with gusts up to 44 mph.  If we don't get blown off our bikes, it should be an interesting, but easy recovery ride from yesterday.  Meet at Westgate.

Ride leaving from Monroe Ave. around 5. We will try to go out in the wind and sail home.

9:00 from Westgate Drive.  We plan on the golf course route which is 25-28 miles.  The 9:00 start will be ahead of some of the wind and it will be in the upper 40s, but it will get much warmer quickly.

Looks like it will be a nice evening to get a ride in. Leaving from Monroe around 4:45. Hope to get 20 miles in.

Hill repeats till I get tired.

Hayes hill starting at about 9:30 this morning.  It's pretty cold at 33 but it will warm a bit and doing the hill will keep us mostly out of the strong wind.  I hope to do repeats for 2+ hours. 

It's Spring!!!!!!!!

Ellen and I are going out for at least a golf course ride at 8:30 this morning.  Sorry for the late notice, but we want to beat the strong wind that is coming and also our son Scott is visiting later today.

Bike Race report

Ellen, Jane, Jose, and I had a great time at the Dunnigan Hills Bike race yesterday.  Jose finished 18th in a large field of pro/1/2s,  Jane finished 16th in her pro1/2 field 30-40, Ellen finished 9th out of 10 in the women's 30+ group and I finished 14th out of 36 in the 45+ cat 5 field.  Jose and Jane did 88 miles and Ellen and I did 43 miles.  There were just over 900 bike racers!  It was really fun.

Saturday 5:30am. Lake Paradise

All are invited for a early morning bike ride to Lake Paradise on Saturday July 10, 2010. Plan on gathering at the Looby's house (1818 McComb) around 5:25 am. The route will cross Rt 45 at McDonalds and then circle the lake and return by reversing the route. If traffic is low and roads appear save, a possible add-on may be to go on to nearby Lake Mattoon.

Roads were checked a week ago, and all were passable.

National 24 Hour Challenge

As some of you may know, Keith Wolcott and Keith Cox (whom I like to call Keith squared) are both competing in the national 24 hour challenge in Middleville, MI.
